About Link Pyramids

Think of a link pyramid as a diagram or in the pattern of the shape itself. The way it is used in context with link building services is the lower Page Rank pages are on the bottom and the higher page rank pages are on top. This method of link building is a lot like a Link Wheel, the difference being the pyramid structure.

Your Site or Page
Top: High Page Rank or SERP Links (PR 5-10) Long Tail / High Domination Keyword(s)
Top tier pages can/will be social networks, article submissions, social web 2.0 profiles, and forum profiles*

Middle: Moderate Page or SERP Rank Links (PR 4-7) Secondary Keyword(s)
Middle tier pages can/will be social networks, article submissions, social web 2.0 profiles, and forum profiles*

Bottom: Lowest Page Rank or SERP Links (PR 0-3) Primary Keyword(s)
Bottom tier pages can/will be social networks, article submissions, social web 2.0 profiles, and forum profiles*

Begining at the bottom of the list each tier of links would link to the tier right above it. What this does is it ensures what only the highest of page ranks actually links to your site while the bottom areas of the pyramid generate authority in numbers. In most cases the bottom levels of the link pyramid is normally populated with a substancial number of links, and expotentially decreasing the number of links every tier you move up. By building this type of link structre, you can build authority by numbers on the low end, spread out your links among multiple sites, show organic growth, and reap the rewards of your site or page receiving high authority links on top.

This type of link structure, along with link wheels, are widely accepted by the industry search engines and SEO Companies as one of the top types of link building strategies in the industry. many SEO Companies and experts believe that ranking penalties stop after one hop, meaning while Google is following your link anything after the first link will not have many of the algorithms penalties assessed.

Anchor Text or Keywords

You want to vary and use multiple anchor texts for this type of link structure. If every link has the same anchor text, Google will devalue your links and mat toss you into the dreaded Sandbox. Make sure you have a list of keywords ready if you choose this type of link structure. You want to have 3 layers of keywords as a general rule, you can use more if you like.

The idea here is you begin with a niche type keyword on the bottom layer; this can be multiple keywords if you like. The secondary level should be the next highest keyword set in your articles. The top set of keywords is where your money keywords and long tail keyword phrases are. This is your money maker; these are the keywords we talk about on our Backlink Services page, with high traffic and low competition.

We also offer Keyword Research Services if you decide that you would like our assistance in locating a multitude of keyword options.

Types of Sites

Because of the diversity in Link Pyramids we recommend that you have some videos, articles, and press releases or site addresses for even more link juice. By having these types of media, you can ensure an easier top tier linking structure.

Examples of sites in the link pyramid:

1) Social Web 2.0
2) Social Networks
3) Social Bookmarks
4) Article Directories
5) Press Releases
6) RSS Submissions
7) Video Submissions
8. Forum Profiles
9) Blog Comments
10) Pinger

Driving Force

What we have found works very well and have seen with many sites that use this type of link structure is to have Link Wheels driving the lower tier of links in this structure. By nature, a Link Pyramid will out rank a Link Wheel; purely based on the organization and number of hops versus the Link Wheel.
